Born in Somerset in 1985, Anthony Webb is a British composer based in Cardiff. Having been influenced by music from an early age, for Anthony it was a natural progression from piano lessons as a child to playing in rock bands as a teenager to composing concert music as an adult. Music has always played a crucial role in Anthony’s life.
As an undergraduate Anthony attended the London College of Music, where he left with a first class BMus(Hons) degree specialising in composition. This opened the door to the opportunity of studying for a master’s degree. In September 2014 Anthony began studying for an MA in music composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he continues to hone his skills as a composer and all-round musician.
Anthony’s main compositional output is acoustic music however, more recently Anthony has been branching out into electro-acoustic, sound design and purely electronic music. Anthony is experienced in writing for a large range of instruments in ensembles big and small, as well as writing in a variety of musical styles which range from Baroque fugues to serialism to jazz and many more.
Most recently, Anthony has been working on a track by London based singer-songwriter Ali Warren, on a four part string arrangement which was recorded by postgraduate string players from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
